A compilation of North Carolina's statutes can be found here, where you can also search for legislative bills pertaining to a wide assortment of issues. (Note: Not all statutes are posted online.)

The N.C. State Bar is the state agency responsible for regulating the practice of law in North Carolina. This site has information about ethics, opinions, and rules pertaining to practicing law in the state.

This is the official website for the N.C. Office of Administrative Hearings, which publishes administrative rules and resolves contested cases involving administrative law.

This website provides access to the North Carolina Child Support Guidelines, worksheets to calculate child support, and child support calculators.

Bar Associations and Professional Organizations


The state bar association is an organization unaffiliated with the N.C. State Bar, but one that aims to work to promote prestige and professionalism among practicing attorneys in North Carolina. Its mission is to serve the public and the legal profession by promoting the administration of justice and encouraging the highest standards of integrity, competence, civility and well-being of all members of the profession.  It also runs the Lawyer Referral Service, which refers you to lawyers in good standing.
